Internet History
Internet History

Internet history is often used as an analysis tool. Obviously it is relevant and interesting in pornography cases, but the history has lots of other uses. It is valuable in reviewing how time at work is productively (or unproductively) spent. Files copied off the company network often show up in internet history. It is a fast and easy way to identify webmail accounts. In one case a colleague worked on, the internet history showed that a criminal spent days researching life in the state penitentiary prior to committing a serious crime.

The history also contains cookies (small files downloaded from the web) and cache entries.
