Almost all of our business comes by referral, so maintaining good long term relationships with attorneys is crucial for our business. One of the ways we are able to accomplish this is by applying cost/benefit analysis to every forensic engagement.
• We will give you a good estimate before we start the case. Our estimates prove extremely accurate, simply because we’ve had a lot of experience.
• We’ll tell you what the odds are of getting the data, and we’ll generally advise you to follow a phased analysis plan. That way you can see what you are getting before you get in to deep.
• Very often, we advise clients that just because it is possible that evidence exists, the likelihood of recovery is too low to justify the expense.
• There is a big difference between knowing something and being able to testify to it in court. For example, finding an email and providing a copy of it may be simple, while proving that the email was read, disseminated, deleted, forwarded, etc. may required many hours of work. Often attorneys just need to know – they don’t need expert testimony, which can save a lot of money.
• We will stay in touch with you every step of the way and discuss the next time and dollar investment before we incur billable hours.
